MobiKwik Says Fraud Due to Internal Glitch, Not Cyberattack

Digital payments company MobiKwik has clarified that the recent fraudulent transactions reported by some users were the result of an internal technical glitch and not a cyberattack.

Several customers had raised concerns after spotting suspicious activity in their accounts. This sparked fears of a possible hacking attempt. However, MobiKwik issued a statement confirming that the issue was caused by an operational error in its systems, not a security breach.

The company said it has already fixed the glitch and assured customers that their data and money remain safe. MobiKwik also added that no sensitive information, such as personal details or payment credentials, was exposed.

“We would like to clarify that the incident was not due to any cyberattack. It was an internal system glitch that temporarily caused erroneous transactions. We have resolved the issue and regret the inconvenience caused,” MobiKwik stated.

MobiKwik further mentioned that affected users will be compensated, and additional safeguards are being implemented to prevent such errors in the future.

This clarification comes at a time when digital payment platforms are under increased scrutiny, with users becoming more cautious about online fraud and security.
