Bengaluru, India – October 14, 2025:
Indian drone startup Airbound has raised $8.6 million in a fresh funding round to accelerate its logistics drone manufacturing and R&D capabilities. The round was led by Aurum Capital, with participation from Matrix Partners India, Axilor Ventures, and angel investors from the logistics and defense sectors.
The company plans to use the funds to expand its drone production facility, enhance AI-driven navigation systems, and strengthen its delivery network across India’s Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.
Founded in 2020 by IIT Bombay alumni, Airbound focuses on building autonomous drones designed for last-mile delivery and industrial logistics. Its drones are already being used by logistics companies, e-commerce platforms, and defense organisations for rapid and cost-efficient transport.
CEO Rohit Sharma said, “This funding allows us to take a big leap in drone logistics. We aim to make air-based delivery faster, safer, and more affordable for businesses across India.”
Airbound plans to increase its drone production capacity by 3x within the next year and launch new models for specialised industries like healthcare, agriculture, and emergency services.
With India’s growing focus on drone technology under the Digital Sky initiative, Airbound is positioning itself as a key player in automated logistics infrastructure.
